Identification
47-50cm. Long tail, tall red crest, red eyes, yellowish-green beak, green body.
Distribution
Africa, south of Sahara from Angola to the Congo.
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1].
Habitat
Forest and savanna
Behaviour
Its diet includes fruit, flowers, leaves, termites, seeds, acacia, figs, and snails.
Both sexes build the nest and 2-3 eggs are laid. They are incubated for 21-24 days by both parents, and the young fledge after approx 28 days.
