Taxonomy

Four subspecies recognized:

  • C. l. luzoniensis on Luzon and Catanduanes
  • C. l. parvimaculatus on Polillo
  • C. l. shemleyi on Marinduque
  • C. l. superciliaris on Ticao, Masbate, Negros and Panay

superciliaris is sometimes split as Visayan Shama.
