  • Crimson hood and upper breast
  • Mainly black elsewhere
  • Some yellow on the face and throat varies according to the subspecies
  • White iris

Female

  • Olive green plumage

Distribution

South America: found in Venezuela, Guyana, Suriname, French Guiana and Brazil.
