South America: found in Venezuela, Guyana, Suriname, French Guiana and Brazil.

- Brazil on River Tapaj¢s in western Par and adjacent northern bank of River Amazon

- Brazil along lower and middle River Madeira in eastern Amazonas

Swamps, waterways and mangroves.
