Amytornis woodwardi

Identification

Long tail typically held upright, conspicuous white throat, black head and upper parts with white streaks, dark chestnut brown belly, rump and tail.

Distribution

Australia.

Taxonomy

Habitat

Bare flat plateaux and stepped or terraced hillsides along broad valleys, characterised by mature spinifex Triodia microstachya which is used for nesting, bare rock, and hummock grassland.

Behaviour

The diet includes invertebrates, seeds and other vegetable matter.
