Also known as Moluccan Cockatoo
Identification
50m. Pale salmon or pink, undersides of feathers tend to be darker pink; underside of tail feathers is deep pink or yellow-orange; crest is deep pink; skin encircling eye is featherless white or tinged with blue; beak is grey to black.
Distribution
Southern Molucca and Amboina Islands of Indonesia.
Taxonomy
Habitat
Coastal areas and coconut plantations where they are considered a pest.
Behaviour
They nest in tree hollows.
The diet includes seeds, nuts and fruit, as well as coconuts.
