17 cm. Dull brown back, lighter brown belly, white throat, tan eye stripe, long, pointed, downcurved bill, long tail. Sexes similar.

High-altitude shrubland, scrub and deciduous woodland, below 2,000 m.
Behaviour
The diet includes insects and small invertebrates.
It builds a nest of twigs and both parents incubate the eggs and care for the young.
