Identification
18 cm. Black crown, silver-white face and cheeks, grey-brown throat and upper breast, rest of underparts yellowish-buff, streaked black, except in mid-belly, upperparts striped buff and dusky, dusky wings and tail fringed yellow, red iris. Juvenile paler, with drab breast.

Peru. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist montanes. It is threatened
