Both NIB. Both from Factory Dealer w/ Certification papers. Both latest model (best I can tell). But,,,, bam,,,,, Zeiss maybe 70% higher price. Ouch, what would u do?
@ Diverdude1
Both binoculars seem overpriced compared to what's available in US. It may be the case that binoculars simply cost more in China than in the US, but if not, I might look around for a better value. It may not pay to ship a binocular into China, but for comparison's sake the Terra ED is available at EuroOptics for $350 and Optics Planet has the 7S at $189. A quick check of an online currency converter pegs 3500 Yuan at roughly $550 and 2000 Yuan at $313. I'm not feeling much of a value at this dealer's prices.

A truth many don't know, or rather two truths real quick,,,,, 1. Good things in China are expensive. 2. Western hi-quality things are crazy expensive. Probably tariffs, import duties, etc. *getting better though. I lived in SE Asian country 20 years ago where one was extorted if you bought Western. You would buy it, then the government would 'hold it' until you paid its value again to them (they determined it). You couldn't say no. True story, haha
Mighty drawn to the Zeiss and one huge reason for that is the Schott ED glass. Then add in the general expectations of German quality all-around, and the panache of the Zeiss name,,,,, but,, haha,, economics come into play. I will take the Nikon 3s 8x42 @ 1350¥ and be happy with them...
