This one's been puzzling me for weeks, and I've had two different suggestions; Stock Dove or young Common Wood Pigeon. I've never managed to ID a Stock Dove in Scotland and can't remember ever seeing a young wood pigeon, which seems odd LOL, perhaps I just don't look at them.

Picture was taken in a town garden on 15 September.

So I've come here for more thoughts.

Young Wood Pigeons don't show the neck markings at first and have a greyer bill. They also have darker eyes. IMO this is a young Wood Pig.

For the record. Young Stock Doves also have no neck markings, and a darker and slighter bill. The proportions and jizz are different. The white wing bands that signify WP are present on the juvenile. SD do not possess these wing-flashes.
