Wolverhampton Peregrines (1 Viewer)

I know they have been sighted previous winters in the city, I think last year at the Mander Centre. Today i was at the main sorting Post Office near Heath Town off the Wednesfield road when I saw a Peregrine raking through the air chasing Feral Pigeons. Then I noticed a large bird (a Peregrine adult) land on a ledge of nearby Victoria Hall, the 28-storey student tower block. It sat there for a while, I had my bins but was worried that I could be accused of watching other birds!!

Anyway, I guess it is using this high point as a wintering spot. The ledge they seem to prefer was 4 storeys from the top and really only viewable from the heath town side, especially the road running beside the block (Crown St?). Possible also to observe them from the Bluebrick car park (Pub restaurant). There is plenty of potential prey around for them, so I guess it will be around for a while.

It is possible there is more than one bird but that is all I saw during the time I had.
