I'm hoping this is not a starling or blackbird. I discounted starling because no spots, and blackbird because no yellow bill. Maybe thrush? Was pecking away at a willow branch above the path, not shy. Actually, thinking about it, not at all sure if this was a willow tree or not, just looked a bit like one … ;-)
