I originally wanted to post this in the "Bird identification" section, but I read the rules there, and the rules say "NO posting captive birds", so I dont know where else to post this...
Never seen a pigeon with black legs before.
The question is in the title. Also, are black legs indicative of a disease? An user from another forum indicated so on a similar looking pigeon.
I am currently treating the baby pigeon for canker of the throat and eyes, with plans to release afterwards.
Was caught in an urban environment, in NorthWestern Romania.

Young pigeons can have black legs naturally sometimes, and the black-marked feathers are just dark and patterned with natural pigmentation too, not dirty - this colour pattern is known as checkered or chequered, some are more heavily marked than others. Both are normal and healthy for this particular bird, no worry.
