Ok, ya, it's a partial albino, or leucistic. I just felt lucky to get a shot of it and thought that some of you might like to see it.

Sheesh, Draco, your sparrows are difficult enough at the best of times. Without a head pattern I'm completely at sea! Thanks for posting this interesting pic though.
 
Leucistic birds have diminished colours, albinos pure white patches (like this); total albinos lack all the pigment. As this state is caused by lack of pigments, feather structure is weaker, making the bird more vulnerable to weather (besides of making it easier seen by predators). Looks good, but should wear a (camouflage) hat ;)
 
it is indeed a chipping sparrow. I know this because I'm familiar with the distinctive colors on the bird's back and wings.
