Option (a)

Nikon 500mm f/5.6E PF together with 1.4x teleconverter

Option (b)

SIgma 150-600mm Contemporary

(with all other things equal ie same camera )

That would be most helpful please as I have the Sigma and am contemplating getting the Nikon

The 500mm PF changed my approach to wildlife photograph with its light weight and no need for a tripod. The 150-600mm lenses I have used were good only to about 500mm focal length and image quality dimished greatly in the 50-600mm range. Check IQ with your lens at 400mm, 500mm, and 600mm, and then compare them.

Thank you. Please may I enquire: at 500mm is the Nikon lens (a) slightly better (b) much better
than the Sigma when that one is similarly extended to 500mm ?
