Where have black-capped chickadees gone? (1 Viewer)

From the last fall till late April this year, there were multiple flocks of black-capped chickadees enjoying a feeder in Eastern Mass every day. They essentially disappeared in May. I have just started to see a few of them at the feeder, but not nearly as many as before.

They are not migratory. I am wondering where they have gone.

Hong, breeding season and nesting will take a lot of birds away from our feeders, also the more natural food sources available the less they will show up at the feeder.

Thanks, Lisa, for the hint. I did not know they also have maternity leave.

BTW, your bird photos are stunning.

Thank you, Hong for the complement. Hopefully you'll be seeing some juvies soon at your feeder.
