What's the difference between.... (1 Viewer)

Right way up again
What's the difference between....

The flight patterns of a dunnock and tree sparrow?
Just so I can completely exclude dunnock (if there's a big difference...)
Cheers!

Sorry I can't help you there but i have just spent my lunch hour watching tree sparrows feeding in the barley field outside my office. They were quite vocal during their flying if that helps at all.

Tree Sparrows look like House Sparrows, just a little trimmer are so noisy its comical . Sort of Finch-like. Dunnocks are hesitant, seldom get very high and bear a passing resemblance to Meadow Pipits if they do.

Ah, thanks!
I managed to see a sparrow-coloured back, pale face and a definite brown cap before it flew off with a slightly undulating flight to near the top of a 60 ft tree.
I didn't think it was a dunnock, but it's always handy to remove a few possible arguments against what you're fairly sure it is.
