Washing Paramo and Country Innovation garments together (1 Viewer)

I have a Paramo Cascada jacket and my other half has a Country Innovation Ventile jacket. They could both do with a wash. Paramo recommends Nikwax Tech Wash cleaner and Country Innovation recommends Storm Wash-in Cleaner. We have the Storm product for the CI jacket but does anyone know if it is all right to put my Paramo jacket in with it to be washed at the same time? Are the two products essentially the same thing?

Having used Paramo for many years(Work and pleasure) I would use the Nikwax for both.I have treated a variety of coats (Regatta etc) with firstly the Nikwax Tech wash and then with the TX Direct proofer and they have come out like new and fully rain repellant

Thanks for the replies. I will probably end up washing them separately, as the Country Innovation jacket will take up most of the machine on its own, so I will buy some Tech Wash for my Paramo. They are both a bit too expensive to risk spoiling them.

I wash all our gear, Paramo, Rohan, Berghaus, Vango, etc in Nixwax.

I usually do an empty cycle 9shortest you have) with no detergent or anything in just to clean the machine. Then I do the wash cycle followed by the re-treat cycle then line dry.

I found a deal for both 1L bottles of Tech Wash and Wash In online some time back. Sorry, cant remember which site but worth a Google.

The two products are very different - the Paramo is a 100% synthetic fibre (which is why I don't like it too much, but I put up with it because it's so light), the Ventile is 100% natural cotton (which is why I love it, but its damm heavy !).

I have a Ventile jacket, and if I remember correctly you need to be careful what you wash it with - you can ruin it with the wrong stuff, and Ventile ain't cheap !

The point has been well made above about not putting it in a washing machine unless you are sure all the detergent has washed throught first, which effectively means a separate hand wash is best.

I will dig out the cleaning instructions for my jacket if I can find them, but at the risk of stating the obvious, can I suggest you call Country Innovations for their advice. They may even have something on their website.

Sorry if all this is a bit late !

Thanks Mark. That is more or less what I suspected. As I explained earlier, we already have the Storm Wash-in Cleaner, which is what they recommend on the CI site. I just wondered if it was suitable for my Paramo jacket too. However I think I will get the Nikwax product for that. It might be just as easy to hand wash them, especially if we choose a nice day to dry the Ventile jacket. That is usually a lengthy process!
