Warblers are starting to come in numbers now here in Portal. Visiting our four tiered bird pond this week have been Virginia's Warbler, Yellow Warbler, Yellow-rumped Warbler, Wilson's Warbler and Lucy's Warbler.

A short drive up Cave Creek Canyon Sunday produced Black-throated Gray Warblers and Grace's Warblers, Townsend's Warblers, Nashville Warblers and Olive Warblers have been reported from the area.

We have a Pine Warbler living in our area of the Foothills of the NC Mountains. He/She visits my feeders. I have had two rare transits visit, Both were Black Throated warblers, one the Blue and just recently the green. I got pictures, they are on the Smithsonian Migratory bird gallary. Warblers are rare here. The Black Throated arn't listed in my "Birds of the Carolinas" Bird Bible.
