Hey there, need assistance! MY first spring ID debacle
Great Swamp watershed foothills, NJ. Today. Pretty sure this is a warbler based on the pointed bill and tiny size. I'm sure the tail tells the story too. It has a yellow throat, yellow breast and a bit of a white neck band. belly behind the legs goes to white, white undertail with black edge. dark upper wing but cant tell the color other than darker grey. face appears to have a black mask around the eyes, yellow above that, possible a grey head, and that white neck band extends up as if giving a white cheek.
Im not sure.
I was watching two white winged warblers for the first time when this appeared. Its not not an early warbler which i've yet seen. I've ruled out every warbler without a yellow throat, magnolia warbler seems to have a neckline but there are no streaks visible, it's not the blue winged warblers as their body is yellow. It popped onto this branch above me then flew away. I'm looking though sibley at a bit of a loss. Hoping someone can take one look at this blurry photo and easily tell. Thanks
