Gwen,
I am not sure about over here but I know of a few individuals over on 24hourcampfire that have used it. I am hoping I end up winning the one that Doug at CLNY has up for the giveaway this month.
Sorry I could not help more.
Frank.... If & when I decide to purchase the Kaibab's I will let you know...gwen
I had a pair of the Pentax 12.5x50 Sp's, liked them but holding them steady was a problem for me. I sold them & got a Burris Signature 12x50, found their image to be just as good if not better & to hand hold them was easy, much better. Iam still thinking about the Kaibabs, funds are set aside, just a matter of time before my Binoholic side overcomes me and I place the order ....... GwenI was just in Cameraland and wanted to try a pair but they didn't have them so instead I tried the 15x50 Vipers which were a quality product for the price but fell far short of the Zeiss I just had in hand. Compared to my 12.5x50 Pentax that didn't feel as solidly constructed, kind of light for a 15 but I was able to hold them decently steady. The Image was pretty good but didn't blow me away, I want to see the Kaibabs myself.
The Burris 12x50 I find are easy to hand hold & I will keep these, but if I end up purchasing the 15x vortex Kaibab's they will be used on a tripod in stead of a spotting scope. I see so much better with two eyes. I have not ruled out the viper 15x .The kaibabs would be a little brighter. Iam located in the adirondack mts. in upatate N.Y about 4 hrs from N.Y. city & very seldom go to the big city. I did notice the pentax pricing also , I think alot of the lower priced pentax must have been old stock, now sold out & with prices now back up......Gwen
for those big eyes, do you use tripod to keep them steady?
