Urgent: Protecting housemartins from Sparrows! (1 Viewer)

I have put 6 artificial house martins nests, 3 of which are now to my delight occupied but this morning I spotted damned house sparrows hanging of the nests, and one house martin egg had been evicted!
Im now watching closely with the a water hose scaring the sparrows off, BUT please can someone tell me how to protect the house martins nests and thier eggs please.
I know you can put up wieghted curtains whilst nests are being build but not sure once they are in use .. One unhappy bunny here :-(
