UK Sea Bird (1 Viewer)

Hi. Please help me in identifying this seabird I spotted off the coast of England at the mouth of the river Tees on Tuesday evening this week.

A solo bird by itself and kept hunched close to the water when not diving. Mostly dark plumage but has white clear considerable underparts.

At first I thought it was a Guillemot or a Razorbill but upon closer inspection I am not too sure, having examined the plumage in more detail.

Alex.
