Please may I request advice.
I have just been looking through some 2014 images taken with a budget bridge camera when I visited the above location more than ten years ago. I apologize for the poor quality image. At the time when I took the photo, I casually just assumed the bird was just another Rose-ringed Parakeet.
However, upon looking at the image just now, I realized there is what appears to be a shoulder patch or stripe present. I read that the Alexandrine Parakeet tends to have such a dark shoulder patch. Hoping against hope, I am wondering - could this in fact be an Alexandrine Parakeet. If so, it is a lifer. I have checked and that species is present at the above location. I do not know whether or not the Rose-ringed Parakeet also sometimes has that shoulder feature.
Also, I can see that the wingtips appear to be dark on this bird. As far as I can tell, the AP doesnt normally have dark wingtips, whereas the wingtips of the RRP are dark usually
As I am not at all experienced in identification of parakeets, I would be grateful if anyone might be able to share any thoughts on the image, and if possible, provide indication as to which species the bird here might be?
Thank you.
