I would love to know the type of bird this year. I am in South East Texas. around the Austin Texas area. The date was January 9. A pretty small bird. And it looks like they have red eyes. Any information would be helpful. Thank you so much.

Your birds are American Coots. I have never seen them, but I know they are unique.
