Travel time between Termales el Otono hotel and Termales del Ruiz (8 Viewers)

Wondering if any one has stayed at Termales el Otono and travelled daily to Termales del Ruiz for birding?
My friend and I are booked at Termales el Otono due to altitude sickness issues and a google search is showing the trip between the two at around 45 minutes I am hearing conflicting reports about this.
Appreciate any recent information please.

15K, 45 minutes on a non-paved mountaineous curvy road sounds about right.

Have just returned from this area, we had a 4WD Duster and journey time on this route was between 1hr & 1h30, excellent birding though if you stop along the way. You would struggle on this route without at least a high-clearance 2WD. Journey time on the alternative route (back through Manizales and along the Panamerican to El 8) is probably 2hrs or so depending on traffic but it's sealed roads all the way.

Thanks. We have a Chevolet Tracker , Renault Duster or similar hired which have a bit more clearance.
