That's a great shame, I thoroughly enjoyed reading his reviews. Mind you, no recent updates (from memory) and it must be a couple of years since he was last active on Birdforum.

I really like Tobias's perspective on binoculars. Maybe someday he'll find his way back to posting reviews. It must be a lot of work to make a website like that.

The error page doesn't say the domain has been abandoned and is available to a new buyer, rather it suggests some maintenance issue. It's possible Tobias is working on it, or will see this notice himself and resolve it.

Someone in the German "Jülich Forum" reported that Mr. Mennle is changing the provider and the page will be uploaded again soon.

I tried the contact details on the archived site a couple of months ago but never received a reply. He's definitely around though because on the 5th of February there is a new nature documentary of his on tv in Germany.
