Can anyone come up with a way to remove a cross threaded filter on a Leica 77 apo? The filter is on the objective not on the lens hood, various things have been tried ,but, to no avail.

I had a filter stuck on my camera lens (it wasn't cross threaded so im not sure this will work). Anyway, kneel on the floor, scope between your legs (objctive pointing vertically upwards), then put your hand inside a shoe (preferably one with a little tread and flat), place the sole of the shoe on the filter, applying enough pressure and turn anticlockwise.
Hope this makes sense? pm if not.
Cheers
