Strange Magpie sound, 7 Mar, Central Poland (1 Viewer)

I believe these sounds were repeated over and over by at least one Magpie perched on a treetop. I'd never heard it before and wonder what they could be or what function they could serve. A subsong would be my best bet, but isn't it too loud for a subsong, and shouldn't a subsong be more varied than just repeating a single short phrase?

(I'll try to ask on XC in case I don't get many answers, which I expect.)

Magpies make all sorts of weird sounds (assuming this was made by a magpie - you don't seem certain), and I think you'd be hard-pressed to ascribe a purpose to them all. You could start by checking BWP.

Had a Magpie many years ago that made all sorts of sounds and also said a few words much to my surprise when it happened for the first time.
wonder if this has been listening to an owl?
