Thanks for that. I had not realised the female was so drab, compared to males. Although, I may perhaps have overexposed the shot.

I captured a few more birds today. One is a thrush of some sort - Song Thrush or Mistle Thrush? How do I easily tell the difference?
Then a Tree Creeper is it?
And is the last one "just" a sparrow? Tell me it is something more exotic.

A Dunnock! I am pleased with that.
I thought blackbirds all had yellow beaks. Would that be a female blackbird in my pic?

Only adult male blackbirds have the yellow beak - and indeed are black! The others are like your pic and are often quite mottled/speckled!
