Some kind of duck or goose?? (1 Viewer)

Hi

As will become very apparent I know nothing about birds but as I get older I seem to be increasingly fascinated by our feathered friends and take great pleasure from watching and identifying unusual (to me!) birds. I've even invested in some binoculars!

We were recently in Thorpeness in Suffolk (UK) and noticed these two quite tame and friendly birds which neither my wife nor I had a clue as to what they were. Any ideas?

Blimey that was quick.... thanks!

Are these likely to have been (not sure of the terminology here) domesticated/introduced (?) or do they actually migrate here?

Originally brought to the UK as ornamental birds but many have established in the 'wild' in East Anglia and the Midlands especially. Naturally they are an African species.
