What size should a small wild bird winter roost be H.xW. D. , and how long on side wall should internal perches be. Without losing heat where should vent holes be and how many.
Could I make a double dived by centre wall or would it not be used? Its forcast this winter UK will be unusally colder. Believe robin in open robin nest is in back garden conifer which faces East. Don't want to look in case I disturb it and it leaves. I thought of putting in a straw pouch near so its got a cover if it wants, as even open nest birds like to get under cover winter.
Also think there is a black bird using old open nest in same back garden hedge what size entrance hole for a small roost it then has choice snug closed in or stay in open nest.
