Skua ID (1 Viewer)

Hello,

yes like Butty I hope for experienced members to comment on your bird.

It looks like the birds I identified as Pomarine Skuas by barrel shaped body if other features were visible.
And always hoped that an expert confirmed or corrected my ID. Thats one of the exceptions where BF is better than birding in the field.

And I think I can just make out a narrow white wingflash, too small for a Great Skua???)

(And flight style of this bird here seems skuaish with falcon-like wingbeats and the impression, that the bird could easily/effordlessly gain speed if necessary=better for a Skua than for a Gull)

A question from me: I remember Great Skua as a notable thicker, robust, even more barrel shaped bird than this, but Great Skua-videos from YT show a quite flat-bellied bird. Reason anyone? Is my memory failing me?

And I still hope for experienced members to comment, even if they cant ID the bird with confidence. Thanks!
