At 7.45 this morning, when I opened the bedroom curtains I saw a large bird quartering over the garden and the immediate local area in Frating which is south east of Colchester. To my amazement it was a red kite. It stayed in the area swooping and diving down for a good five minutes and then flew off eastwards.

Brilliant news for you Molly. The kites are dispersing from their core areas into other regions. Here is a Diving kite image for you to enjoy and remind you of your kite!

Excellent Mollymol. :t:I saw one being mobbed by crows over Westleton in Suffolk on the 14th... and that was actually the first one I've ever seen! Was split between watching the Kite and a Woodlark putting on a songflight! Am really hoping that they take hold here in the east and we start getting good numbers of them as would LOVE to see them regularly.
