Shore bird in Huntington Beach, CA (2 Viewers)

I took these photos of a short bird shortly after 7 AM on July 4, 2023 at Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve in Huntington Beach, California. I'm having a difficult time identifying it, so any help would be appreciated.

When possible, always take photos for ID with a) bill showing and b) head side-on! It's an adult willet moulting out of breeding plumage.

I usually do that, but unfortunately the bird didn't cooperate in this case. Thanks for the ID.
