Seeking Leitz Trinovid 10x40B binocular NOS parts. (1 Viewer)

Hello fellow members, I am a new member who has recently purchased some vintage Leitz Trinovid 10x40B binoculars, I live in the UK and I was wondering if anyone knows where I can purchase some new Leica rubber eye-cups and an ocular lens as one of the lenses is scratched. I am hoping that someone may know of a company that specialises in servicing binoculars and may have some new old stock left. As a first port of call, I contacted Leica customer care in Germany and they said they do not have any of the aforementioned parts and consequently do not service my old binoculars anymore. I would be very grateful for any advice given.

You will be well directed by contacting Gary Hawkins of East Coast Binocular Repairs for a definitive answer........he was the master technician for these and subsequent models in the UK. However, I suspect, as you may already be aware, that new replacement spares will be extremely scarce if impossible to sourcea

Dear Pyrtle, Thank you for your reply; you are right, trying to get parts now is Delusions of Grandeur. I did manage to speak to Gary (who was very nice) but unfortunately, he stated he has no stock left and I will probably never find any. This is a shame because I like those binoculars and for some reason, I do not like the look and feel of the rubber armour examples of today, although I appreciate, very practical.

I wouldn't have idea of where to start other than where you already have; here in the forum. Partially out of hope, and also to help draw some interest to your search, I decided to post and bring it back to the top. Keep searching and consider buying a set that has been infiltrated with mildew, turning it into a potential parts donor.
