Sanderling ? - Jeddah (1 Viewer)

Hello,

first tfs your excellent pictures! And wow, what diversity you have in your garden, a true paradise for birds and we all can benefit thanks to your pictures!

Both birds are Dunlins imo. Please note longish, downcurved bill (deeper based and stockier bill in Sanderling).
The bird in the foreground also has too dark and brownish upperparts for a winter Sanderling.

LOL Alexander this was not form my garden, but the shore is just 500 meters away, so its another back yard for me, lets just hope that my favorite birding spot turn to security restricted area.

thanks for the ID, that really will change my mind about them, as it seems these two are winter visitors, not just passage migrants as i use to think.
