rust colored bird, sounds like R2D2 (1 Viewer)

Spotted in field in Saskatchewan, Canada. Slightly larger than sparrow, rust colored over entire body, fairly long tail. Bill is thin, about 3/4 inch long. Very interesting call sounds like the little droid R2D2 from Star Wars. Anybody know what this bird would be. Thanks.

Bobolink sounds a lot like R2D2, although the visual description doesn't fit. Brown Thrasher might be a good guess. Also perhaps check the songs for Baltimore or Orchard Oriole to see if either of those fit.

When I hear "R2D2" a bobolink is definitely the first thing that comes to my mind, though they are obviously not brown.

What time of year was it sighted? If autumn maybe Rusty Blackbird, but not sure if they occur in Saskatchuan.
