Russian binoculars question (1 Viewer)

etc

Well-known member
Once upon a time, I had old Russian binoculars.

They were my first binoculars. I am trying to figure out what they were.

They were a copy of Zeiss porros and I think they were 7x35 or possibly 8x35 or maybe 7x30, not exactly sure.

They came in that characteristic hard case. They also had yellow filters.

Anyone got pics?

I have an old Russian 8 x 32 porro. A Zeiss copy. Has hard, non-adjustable eyecups and red filters that snap attach over the eyecups. Kind of crude construction, with a cheap, hard leather case. Optics are pretty good. The brand name is LOMO or something like that written in the cyrillic alphabet. Unfortunately, I can't locate them just now. They cost about $50.00 in 1980 or so. I got them from a Large Format Photo Parts Dealer in Kane in NW Rural Pennsylvania. He had them in various sizes. I think he is out of business now.

I have a pair that have individual eye focus and some (more common) with centre focus. They are copies of the Zeiss binoculars although not as good.
I can post you a pici if you know which model it was

Here is a picture of the 8x30 models I own.
Top is the individual eye focus Komz dated 1965
Middle is the current built Baigish model with less of a yellow tint
Bottom is the 1965 model with a deep purple coating.
