Following on from the recent thread regarding Starlings as mimics, does anyone else think that the Robin is also quite a good mimic? In the past few days, I've noticed snippets of Greenfinch, Goldfinch, Blackcap, Yellow Wagtail, Willow Warbler and Goldcrest amongst their songs. Not bad!

Yesterday the Robin in our local park, in the middle of his usual song, started mimicking a noisy Great Tit that had been interrupting his song. He did so louder and more musically than the Great Tit!

Hi Jackie and a warm welcome to you from all the Staff and Moderators. I'd not noticed this thread before, it may explain a few things that have puzzled me over the years LOL

I'm sure you will enjoy it here and I look forward to hearing your news.

@Jackie Gill
