repairing Bushnell legend 8x42s in the uk ? (1 Viewer)

I dropped my Bushnell Legend 8x42s from a height of about 3ft onto a carpeted floor, and managed to dent the lens ring that holds the main objective. Although optically they seemed fine, typically that lens has now become fogged up inside. :C
I can't say I'm that impressed with the build strength of these bins considering what I done, though optically I think they are good.

Anyway, can anyone recommend a place in the uk to fix them. I don't think they are in warranty now, and even if they were I doubt this accident would be covered.

thanks
Stuart

Legen 8x42 Repairs

I realize that my post does not help with UK repairs but.. I dropped my Legend 8x42's in Mexico a couple of years ago and dented the outer retaining ring on the right lens. I tried to order a replacement and gave up as the distributor changed hands.

Last year during an all day birding trip in torrential rain the right side completely fogged up and there was water inside the lens. My local camera technician straightend out the ring (without removing it) with a small piece of wood. He sent the bins to the new distributor who had them columnated, cleaned and re-nitrogen purged at no charge - lifetime warranty! They were returned inside 2 weeks - excellent service. Look for UK Bushnell distributor.

Great bins!

If you lok in one of the birding monthlies there should be an advert for Bushnell and the distributor's address (Vickers or something like that) should be in the advert. Write to them asking for advice.

Thanks all...I found the UK distributor (www.jjvickers.co.uk) not long ago and gave them a call.
I'll have to send it off and have to wait and see if its all under warrenty.
