I am new to this forum. I am heading to north Yorkshire today for a week. Could anyone tell me where I might see Red grouse in the Heather. Thanks Danby

Hello Danby and welcome to the forum from all the Staff. You can find them all over on the Yorkshire moors, good luck and all the best.

Anywhere there is heather in the uplands. If there is muirburn (you can see the patchwork on Google maps) there will be grouse.

Hi Danby and a warm welcome from me too.

I'm sure you will enjoy it here and I hope to hear about all the birds you see around you.

Hi DannyMac, welcome to Birdforum, hope you enjoy it here.
There is a subforum for all things Yorkshire Here come along and join in the threads there. You haven't said whereabouts in North Yorks that you will be staying and it is one of the bigger counties. The A59 from Blubberhouses to Bolton Abbey, the Reeth to Tan Hill road, the A169 around Goathland are all places where I have seen red grouse.
