Pictures of common birds (1 Viewer)

Hi

I am just wondering if there is any value in posting decent pictures here of common birds like starlings, sparrows, crows, tits, robins etc. I personally think it is nice to see other people's pictures of these beautiful creatures, but is that the general feeling in here, or is it only for rare bird sightings ? I would post them in appropriate forum (garden birds/seabirds etc.).

Thank you to all who respond

HI Thegeezer All pictures of nature are welcome.

Don't forget, birds like House Sparrows, while considered 'common' are actually under threat due to loss of nesting sites. Starlings are another species that seem to be threatened too.

Many years ago the Passenger Pigeon was counted in their million in America.... they are no more. No-one realised their numbers were falling.

If we don't take pictures we won't know. Also pictures can show some unusual behaviour too.

Birds which are common here people on another continent have never seen.

It's not just the forum, where your pictures can illustrate your posts, but don't forget the Gallery for birds, mammals, reptiles, plants and scenery. As long as the species are wild, they are very welcome.

Thanks Delia, my new fz-330 is live and started posting in forums and gallery now. Your encouragement was key to this !!
