Day 27 of 40 was the first of three days at sea. I added three countries to those in which I have birded but with limited diversity in each - not even a Feral Pigeon or a House Sparrow!
Nicaragua - 12
El Salvador - 17
Guatemala - 10
The highlight of the day was Tahiti Petrel but the myriad of non-avian biodiversity was fantastic. The group dynamic is the oddest that I have ever experienced. I will reserve judgement for the remaining week but it is certainly likely to shape my future choices.
Two year ticks:-
585. Tahiti Petrel 1 April At sea, Nicaragua
586. Least Tern 1 April At sea, Nicaragua
A few pics - Least Tern, Tahiti Petrel, Magnificent Frigatebird, Pomarine Skua, Wedge-tailed Shearwater, Leach's Storm-petrel (dark-rumped), Red-billed Tropicbird, Nazca Booby, Red-footed Booby pursuing flying fish, Brown Booby pursuing flying fish, Galapagos Shearwater, Blue Whale (two pics), Mobula Ray species somersaulting, Pygmy Beaked Whale, Bottle-nosed Dolphin, Spotted Dolphin (two pics including one leaping), Common Dolphin leaping & Ridley's Sea Turtle.
All the best
