Owl - Grizedale Forest - Cumbria - England (1 Viewer)

Owl as per photo. I only had the chance for this single shot on my phone after I stumbled out of a trail directly in front of it and it promptly flew away.
Was seen today about midday in a pine plantation area of Grizedale.

I guess a tawny or a short ear? or possibly a little owl, but this seemed a bit big for that.

Hello,
its a Tawny Owl, everything is there (ground colour is variable in this species). Owls adopt a sleek upright posture when alerted/disturbed, maybe just before deciding than flying away was a better option.
