Opticron Imagic BGA Range (1 Viewer)

I've read a bit about the Imagic range of binos from Opticron. Does anyone have any direct experience of them?

I've just bought a pair of BGA Classic 10x42.
They're really nice

before you commit to a roof prism i'd advise you try the HR WP 8x42 porro
or the imagic TGA 7X42 (my current bin and phenominaly bright).

both these porros give a fantasticly well resolved, sharp and natural image.

not sure which bga roof you're refering too, quite alot of opticron models have BGA in their name?

however, they're pretty good too.my first quality roof was the bga pc agn 8x42,this has since had some lense coating upgrades and improved eyecups and is now called the BGA classic.

always a good thing to try them out with other models,i've often found reviews to be totally erronious and a highly rated bin total guff!

trust your own eyes only.

Hi Dave, I also looked at those so might consider those an an option. The optics are good you'd say?

I think so, but I'm no optical expert...

You're welcome to try them "in the field" sometime.
I live about 30 miles north of Nottingham.
If you fancy meeting somewhere in between?

the Imagic BGA's are the model between the Verano's and the Classics.

Like most Opticron products they are good vfm.

i'd agree that you need to try any bin first

Hi, I have been using the Imagic 10x42 BGA WP PC.ASF T Oasis for some time. They seem very bright under all conditions and, on trial did not find more expensive binoculars any better.
They are quite heavy, but probably no different from similar models. However, because of the weight I take DBA 10x25 Oasis WP binoculars on longer walks. Just half the weight, they fold into a very compact space, have a good field of view and are again excellent. Only individual - and unattached - eye-piece covers let them down!

Roger, I'm in the party opposite on this. My Opticron 8x32 SR.GA came with a rainguard and I would much rather have the individual - and unattached - eye-piece covers. If your caps fit my eyepieces, maybe we could swap!

Michael.
