Opinions on Celestron Outland 10x42 (1 Viewer)

Looking for answers.
I am looking at getting my mother a pair of bins on a modest budget. She is a beginner birder and had thus far been using an old pair of 7x35 Tasco porros. The Celestron Outland 10x42 model was recommended to me as comparable bins to the Bushnell Natureview models. The Celestrons are waterproof/fogproof, roof prism, no-fault lifetime warranty at $199.99 (CAD) are within my price range. I am probably looking at around $250 (CAD) as a budget. Even though my mother will be using these bins for feeder watching and some bush walks I figured the 10X would still be ok as opposed to the 8X. I realize you cannot buy a top end bin on a modest budget, I just want something that will not hinder or discourage her birding due to lack of quality.
Any opinions on the Celestrons would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance
Bart

I would say that the Nikon 8x40 Action EX might be a better choice. Better image, better field of view, better everything. When on a budget, don't buy roof prism binoculars.
