The youtube video below was taken with OM-1, 100-400 lens at 400mm, 1.4 Teleconvertor.
Plus the in-camera video 1.4TC, and scaled up by 2x in Openshot video editor.
I make that over 3000mm, or ~60x magnification!
The bird was 150m away at which point I wouldn't expect much in the way of photos. Video for some reason seems to hold up a little better, although heat haze and artifacts are starting to creep in.

I also tried 3x Scale up with the video editor (94x ?!) which looks very much like a standard definition video. Still good for identification.
This was early afternoon on a pretty uninspiring cloudy day. No reason why this can't be the norm for this camera set up.
