Olympus EXPS I vs NIKON Sporter EX vs NIKON PROSTAFF 7 vs Vortex DiamondBack (1 Viewer)

Olympus EXPS I 10x42 or 8x42
NIKON Sporter EX 8x42 or 10x42
NIKON PROSTAFF 7 8x42
Vortex DiamondBack 7x36 or 8x42
Nikon Monarch 8x36 DCF WP
NIKON 8x40 CF ACTION EX WP

which one do you think is the best? I would also consider other models with similar price. Size should be between 7x32 and 10x42, maybe something more compact too, if it would have better image.

I want as little CA as possible. I already had Vanguard Spirit ED 8x42 but it was so bad I returned it, very distinct CA, small sweet spot, blury edges. My old heavy USSR porro was far better...

I figured out that shipping from US is actually not a bad idea, and the famous Sightron SII Blue Sky 8x32 would cost me same money as other models on my list... so I am adding it up along with Zen Ray Summit HD 8x42

and that means the thread name is getting more and more obsolete :(

Out of your first list the only one I haven't tried is the Prostaff 8x42 though I trust Jerry's assessment of it. It would be my suggestion from that first list.

Excluding it and considering your second post I would certainly suggest either of those last two. Both are excellent binoculars optically and I would have no problem using either as a full time binocular. Truth be told I just had the Sightron out yesterday and today and was fortunate enough to get another year bird with them...a Blue-gray Gnatcatcher.

I didn't really like the 8x36 Monarch or the Diamondback 7x36 much. The Action EX was pretty good, but a bit on the large size. I've not found the 7x35 yet, but it seems well liked. Judging by reports here only the Prostaff 7 might be the one to check out. I've not seen the others.

I don't know if it would be of interest but here is an on-line only brand that has been picking up pretty favourable comments.

I think they have Dutch and German web sites as well, but you would need to check if they would ship to the Czech Republic.

The HD is their entry model, reviewed my Renze here.

This one and the XP were compared in a fairly recent thread:

Good luck,

I bought a pair of Zen-Ray VISTA binoculars. I was quite impressed by it. It's not the ZEN ED3 type of glass. But it seems to mingle well with Vortex Diamondback or Nikon Monarch

Thank you for your replies,

Eden binocular does not ship to my country, which is pitty.

so I ordered Sightron from OpticsPlanet, but they wont sell me it...
"Unfortunately, at this time we cannot ship any products of this brand(s) to your country due to restrictions imposed by our manufacturer. The manufacturer has specified that United States dealers should not sell internationally to protect business rights of international dealers."

so I contacted Czech distributor, which does not even have an eshop... :)
