Seen in a busy part of the city feeding on seed left on the footpath alongside Rock Doves and the usual Eurasian/House Sparrows. Same size as the latter.
Brow, colour and wing bands align somewhat with Yellow-Browed Warbler but they are not found here in June nor do they eat seeds. The yellow belly is also not present in the warblers found in this range.
Not great photos unfortunately but colour and fieldmarks can be seen. Quite bright yellow belly and brow.
Not overly familiar with the birds of this area but have hit a dead end on possible IDs on eBird and my field guide, the possibility of an escapee from the songbird trade could also be a factor to consider.
Any suggestions are appreciated!
